As the community embarks on a new year, the air is filled with anticipation and fresh beginnings. Many community members take this opportunity to reflect on the past and set goals for the future. This article aims to uncover the aspirations and dreams teachers and student alike have for 2024.
Some students expressed a desire for academic excellence, vowing to improve grades or delve deeper into specific subjects. Others focused on personal growth, aiming to develop new skills, overcome challenges, or enhance their overall well-being.
On the sports field, we caught up with Alex T. ‘25, catcher for Varsity Baseball. His resolution was centered around teamwork and leadership, aiming to foster a sense of camaraderie and unity among his teammates: “I hope really that this year we can advance and update our school banner,” Alex said. “I believe we can achieve this through consistent efforts of team lifts, practices, and embracing  a team mentality.” Through his determination, Alex illustrated how resolutions can extend beyond personal goals to create a ripple effect that benefits the entire community.

In the French room, French teacher Dominique Bernard shared resolutions related to an increase in his reading. Mr. Bernard prioritized “reading more solid books, rather than online articles and documents.” Mr. Bernard also expressed that it is important to spend time off of screens, as technology usage has exponentially grown through the years, and possibly replace it with reading or other ways in which one might expand their knowledge of the world.

As these stories came together, it became evident that New Year's resolutions are individual promises and opportunities for collective growth and positive change. Each resolution, whether big or small, contributes to the tapestry of our shared experiences as a school community.

In the spirit of solidarity and encouragement, let's celebrate the diversity of resolutions within our school. Whether you are aiming for academic success, personal development, community service, or simply striving to be kinder to yourself and others, remember that every resolution can shape a brighter future for both individuals and the entire school community.

As we navigate the challenges and triumphs of the coming year, let's cheer each other on and make 2024 a year of growth, resilience, and collective achievement. Happy New Year, Panther families!
